Contact The Silvered Pane
You can reach the editorial team of The Silvered Pane by email at [email protected]. The inbox is read by the editors, and messages about corrections, sources and articles are the ones that get a reply fastest.
Corrections
If an article contains a mistake, a wrong date, a misattributed technique or a source that no longer supports what it says, please write with the page address and, if you can, the correct information and where it comes from. Confirmed corrections are made in the article and noted, because accuracy matters more than a tidy archive.
Sources and suggestions
The magazine welcomes suggestions of public sources: museum collection records, conservation papers, catalogues and dated technical references that would improve a page. If you have written such a source, or you know of one that is freely available, send the link and a line explaining why it is relevant.
Questions about an article
If something in an article is unclear, or you want to know why a particular point is made, ask. The editors will answer where they can, and where a question reveals a genuine gap in a page, the page is improved. Questions about the value or the authenticity of a specific mirror cannot be answered by email, because that needs the object in hand and a qualified professional.
What we cannot do
The Silvered Pane does not buy or sell mirrors, does not broker sales, does not provide valuations and does not authenticate pieces. Messages asking for any of these will be answered with a short explanation and, where possible, a pointer to the kind of professional who can help.
Writing to us
A useful message names the page, states the point briefly, and includes any source. That is enough. There is no form to fill in and no account to create. Write to [email protected] and the editors will take it from there.
